Gov. Steve Sisolak on Tuesday named veteran gaming lawyer Brittnie Watkins to the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
He cited her background and legal experience in the gaming industry. He said she will be an excellent addition to the board as the state’s biggest industry continues its recovery from the pandemic.
“It’s critical that we remain the gold standard and operate with the highest integrity and I am confident Brittnie will help us achieve that goal,” he said.
Her history includes extensive practice in hotel and gaming litigation at the trial and appellate levels.
In 2020, she became the first black woman elected to the state Bar Board of Governors.
She replaces Terry Johnson, who has been on the board since 2012.
