On April 28, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Off-Road Unit was patrolling for illegal dumping in and around the Brunswick Canyon area, according to a news release.
Deputies located a 35-year-old man and a 43-year-old female sleeping in a vehicle in the middle of an off-highway area access trail, the release said.
The vehicle was located in a dangerous position and blocking the highly-used trail. The area around the vehicle was littered with garbage and property.
While investigating the situation it was discovered that the vehicle was stuck and had stolen license plates attached to it. Neither of the two subjects had valid driver’s licenses and the male was in violation of pretrial conditions through the Carson City Justice Court.
Deputies assisted the subjects with removing the vehicle and the male subject was taken into custody for possession of stolen license plates and pre-trial conditions violations.
Illegal dumping charges are pending on both subjects.
