The Rotary Club of Carson City is inviting the community to learn more about the organization during a special online presentation by incoming Rotary International President Jennifer Jones. Jones will be the first woman to lead the service organization.
“This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in Rotary to learn more about our organization and the direction we are going” said Rotary Club of Carson City President Rachelle Resnick, “and a bonus is that it’s pressure free”. The virtual event takes place Saturday, February 13th at 9:00 A.M.
Jones is one of Rotary’s most popular speakers. She is described as a creative and visionary leader and Rotarians are looking forward to the club’s future under her direction. As the first woman to be nominated to be president, Jones understands how important it is to follow through on Rotary’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement. “I believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion begins at the top and for us to realize growth in female membership and members under the age of forty, these demographics need to see their own reflection in leadership,” Jones said. “I will champion double-digit growth in both categories while never losing sight of our entire family.”
Anyone interested in learning more about Rotary International and attending the virtual event should contact Peter Fishburn at pfishburn@charter.net. To learn more about the Rotary Club of Carson City should visit www.carsonrotary.com.
