The Rotary Club of Carson City will discuss affordable housing at its virtual meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 12:30 p.m.
The public is invited to attend the online meeting. Sarah Adler, principal at Silver State Government Relations, will be the guest speaker. Adler will be speaking on behalf of the Nevada Housing Coalition and will talk about proposed legislation that could create more affordable housing in our area.
“Affordable housing is a critical issue in our community” said Rotarian Peter Fishburn. “Too many people are struggling to pay for the most basic housing, as Rotarians we are very interested to hear about the proposed legislative bills.”
Adler holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and master’s degree in public administration. Much of her career has focused on rural and economic development.
She served as the director of the Rural Office of the Nevada Commission on Economic Development, as well as the Nevada state director of the USDA Rural Development.
She currently serves as board president for the Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey counties.
Anyone interested in attending the meeting via Zoom should contact Fishburn at pfishburn@charter.net.
