The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada is kicking off its first of several fundraisers.

Like many other businesses the Children’s Museum is struggling to make ends meet. Operating costs such as rent and utilities make it impossible for a nonprofit whose main funding source has been cut by 75% to make ends meet.

Please show your love for the museum by buying a heart or making a donation today. Each heart supports the Museum, and are hung in the Museum as a way to spread the love. There is also a gofundme page for those who do not want their name put on a heart.

“We appreciate the community's continued support for us through these challenging times, and hope we will be there to give back once this is all over,” said the museum in a press release.

The fundraiser will run all of February.

The Children's Museum will deliver a jar, the hearts, and a flier no later than Jan. 30 to businesses who would like to participate. A representative from the museum will stop by or check in on a weekly basis to check on supply needs, pick up donations and hearts should the organization not want to display the hearts at their location.

The hearts picked up by the Children's Museum will be displayed at the museum.

For businesses who want to support the Museum can email sknight@cmnn.org or call the Museum at 775-884-2226.
