Sisolak’s restrictions are saving lives

In your Jan. 20 edition, Lisa Shannon wrote to criticize the business restrictions "recklessly" ordered by Gov. Sisolak for the Quad County region.

In her opinion, the restrictions are unnecessary because of the low percentage of COVID-19 cases and deaths. She advises us to "do the math,” but I think she's put the cart before the horse. The percentage of illness and death due to COVID are most likely so low precisely because of Sisolak's restrictions. They're working!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion about the best way to handle a pandemic, but Sisolak's decisions are being made based on the advice of some of the best medical experts in epidemiology. To label them reckless is, well, reckless.

For the last 40 years, the liberal party has attempted to turn this country into a total government run country (known as communism). For example look at Russia and China.

It looks likes in 2021 they will finally succeed. Government (federal, state and local) have found out how to gain the final whip to control the servants. Now you will see how they will take away individual freedom for government control.

You will not have to worry about which party you belong to because they will all be sleeping in the same bed. Over the last 200 years the libs have learned how to eat an elephant, one bite at a time. One freedom today, one freedom tomorrow, so on and so forth.

The Constitution is no longer the rule of law in this country. The rule of law from now on will be whatever they decided what law will be enforced.

I am at the age that I will not have to worry about the collapse of our country, but my grandkids will see our country slowly disappear as we know it.

The wealthy people of this country who donate millions of dollars to these political parties better watch out, for when they get full control they will not have to ask you for your donations, they will just take it and they won’t even thank you for it.

Maybe in a 1,000 years there will be a representative republic again … somewhere in this world.
