Churchill County commissioners meet Wednesday at 1:15 p.m. at the Churchill County Administrative Building, Commission Chambers, 155 N. Taylor St. This meeting will also be conducted on Zoom.

Consideration and possible action

  • Employee Service Awards for the 2nd Quarter of 2021.
  • Update of current activities, plans, or actions related to the Bureau of Land Management’s Carson City District.
  • Presentation of The Board of Indigent Defense Services Regulations Requiring Counties to Submit Plans for the Provision of Indigent Defense Services.
  • Adoption of Resolution 13-2021, which seeks to augment the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Budget in accordance with the Nevada Revised Statutes.
  • Acceptance of a renewal proposal from Nevada Public Agency Insurance Pool (POOL) and approval for payment from Fiscal Year 2021-2022 funds.
  •  Approval of a six-month contract extension with Merchant McIntyre & Associates in the amount of $45,000 through December 31, 2021 for pursuing grant opportunities, federal funding, and government relation strategies designed to accomplish Churchill County’s federal funding objectives and authorization for the County Manager to extend the contract for an additional six-months to June 30, 2022 if certain grants are received and continued assistance is needed.
  • Approval of a one-year contract renewal for the provision of managed services for IT (information technology) and continuation of security programs.
  • Consideration and possible action re: Approval of a COVID Vaccine Incentive Program.
  • Approval of an Agreement for Professional Services to Reappoint Dr. Tedd McDonald as the Churchill County Health Officer and chair of the Churchill County Board of Health for a cost of $1,000 per year.
  • Approval of Job Descriptions and Pay Grades for positions at the William N. Pennington Life Center.
  • Approval to utilize Manpower to temporarily fill positions at the William N. Pennington Life Center until the regular positions can be filled, including approval to enter into a contract with manpower to provide temporary employees.
  • Approval of a Job Description and Pay Grade for a Registrar position at the Churchill County Museum and to reclassify an employee from Museum Curator to Registrar.
  • Approval of personnel changes approved in the Fiscal Year (FY) 21-22 Budget.
  • Approval of a Job Description and Pay Grade for a Senior Planner.
  • Approval of a Job Description and Pay Grade for a Permit Technician.
  • Approval of a Job Description and Pay Grade for a Fairgrounds Operations Deputy.
  • Approval of Pay Tables for FY 21-22.
  • Performance Evaluation of County Manager Jim R. Barbee.
  • Budget Transfer #1 for Fiscal Year 2020-21.
  • Approval of the Fiscal Year End Monetary Transfers for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2021.
  • Adoption of Resolution 14-2021, a resolution seeking to dissolve the Fairgrounds Sale Proceeds Fund and to transfer the remaining funds in the fund to the General Fund to partially cover construction costs for the Civic Center.
  • Adoption of Resolution 15-2021, a resolution seeking to dissolve the Cemetery Beautification Fund.
  • Approval of an automatic Augmentation #1 for Grants Fiscal Year 2020-21.
  • Approval of a Lease Agreement with Churchill Area Regional Transportation for the continued use of the property at 310 Court Street.
  • Approval of a Parcel Map Application filed by Hendrix Ranch for property located at 568 and 640 N. Downs Lane, Assessor’s Parcel Number 007-571-32, consisting of 58.94 acres in the A-10 zoning district, whereby approved variances for the minimum lot size allow the creation of 2 lots for the existing homesites that are less than the 10 acres required by code to separate them from the farm land.
