The Carson City School District is asking parents to mark their calendars for Tuesday, April 6, when all pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, new and returning student updates and registrations will begin. Pre-K and kindergarten registration traditionally has been the first week of March. The district is streamlining and simplifying the registration and annual student update process by consolidating a previously multiple-date schedule.

CCSD utilizes Infinite Campus for its student data information system. Parents and families of new and current students will use online registration through IC to provide and update student information.

“To help dispel parent and family confusion of when they need to register their child or children for school or conduct annual updates in Infinite Campus, we decided to consolidate all registrations and annual student information updates to begin the first week of April,” said Tasha Fuson, associate superintendent of educational services for the Carson City School District. “Rather than have our parents tediously keep track of a multiple dates, we felt it would be easier for them to take care of all their student(s) registration and IC update needs when the system opens April 6.”

Through IC, the secure online enrollment system on the district’s website, parents are able to verify all student demographic, emergency and medical information for their child prior to the start of the new school year. The school sites need the most up-to-date family, address, phone, medical information and permissions from parents for students so that they can participate in field trips and other school-related activities as well as have media releases for photographs or videos of them participating in various school functions.

Children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 30, 2021, are eligible for kindergarten for the coming 2021-22 school year. Full-day kindergarten classes are offered at all elementary schools in Carson City. Contact your neighborhood school:
