The Oasis Academy softball team continued its unbeaten streak by sweeping Virginia City and Whittell in a pair of doubleheaders.

The Bighorns shutdown the Muckers in Virginia City, 18-1 and 12-0, on April 20, before 19-0 and 17-2 home wins over the Warriors on Thursday. Oasis Academy traveled to Mineral County on Tuesday and will host Smith Valley on May 11.
Through six games, Emily Payne and Kate Rios lead the team with a .667 batting average, while Kaitlyn Hert is hitting .636 and Elisabeth Bird is at .615. Payne has the team’s only home run and has driven in nine runs while scoring 14 times. Rios and Bird lead the team in triples with two while Rios has doubled five times. Rios also leads the team with 11 RBI.
On the bases, Payne is perfect in 15 stolen attempts while Bird has stolen eight out of nine bases. Rios and Nayda Sanchez are perfect in seven and six attempts, respectively.

In the circle, Payne has pitched 17 of the team’s 20.2 innings, recording 43 strikeouts against three walks in facing 61 batters. She’s allowed only one run (unearned. Rios pitched 3.1 innings, striking out four against one walk.

Lacrosse
The Lady Bighorns defeated Galena, 16-13, on Thursday in their season opener in south Reno.
Senior Sadie O’Flaherty led the team with a nine-goal, one-assist performance.
Oasis Academy competed against Reno on Tuesday with the boys hosting the Huskies and the girls traveling to Reno. The boys team travels to Reno on Friday to face Galena. The girls team hosts Damonte Ranch on Saturday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.

Boys Golf
The Bighorns boys golf team competed in Dayton and Whittell last week. No results were available.
Oasis Academy traveled to Gardnerville on Tuesday and will visit Incline Village on Monday.
