The Goldman Sachs Philanthropy Fund has donated $110,000 to the Nevada treasurer’s program to help people with disabilities fund costs related to their disability.
Treasurer Zach Conine said the money will provide seed money for the disabled to open ABLE Accounts — tax-advantaged savings accounts that can help cover the costs associated with disabilities.
The program was created by AB62 a month ago, allowing the treasurer’s office to seek gifts, grants and donations to encourage people to open ABLE accounts that can stretch their funds farther.
Conine thanked the fund for its generosity.
“This program will go a long way to create pathways out of poverty for people in the disability community and I’m hopeful more organizations will continue to support this program,” Conine said.
He said information is available online at NV.SaveWithABLE.com.
