The Nevada Humane Society Animal Shelter in Carson City is celebrating its fifth anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 16, and all are invited to come party with their adoptable pets. Starting at 9:30 a.m., they’ll have an awards reception, doggy play time, cat toy crafts, a tree planting ceremony, pet adoptions, and more. The shelter is located at 549 Airport Road, and the celebration will run until 3 p.m. In the five years that the humane society has served Carson City, it has helped find homes for over 6,000 animals.
