2 people die in Dayton crash, Nevada Highway Patrol says

Two people, including a Dayton resident, died in a crash on U.S. Highway 50 on Aug. 25, according to a Nevada Highway Patrol news release.
At approximately 5:02 p.m., Nevada Highway Patrol troopers responded to an injury crash at U.S. Highway 50 and Occidental Drive, the release said.
Preliminary investigation shows that a silver 2007 Ford Focus was traveling westbound on U.S. 50. A black 2012 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling eastbound on U.S. 50.
The Ford failed to maintain its travel lane, crossed the center turn lane and entered the eastbound travel lanes. The front of the Ford struck the front of the Chevrolet. The Ford became fully engulfed in flames.
The driver of the Ford, Devon Woolard, a 24-year-old Las Vegas resident, was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, Catherine Collier, a 54-year-old Dayton resident, was also declared deceased at the scene.
This crash is being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) - NHP Case #210801747.
