The Carson City Board of Supervisors will meet at 8:30 a.m., on Thursday, April 7 in the Robert “Bob” Crowell Board Room of the Community Center on 851 E. William St. Included in their agenda, the board will: • Approve draft language for a 2022 ballot question asking voters whether the city may continue to collect a 5 cent excise tax on diesel fuel. The revenue from the tax supports construction, maintenance and repairs of roads. • Organize a committee to prepare arguments in favor of and against the diesel fuel tax ballot question. • Hear an annual report from the liquor hearings officer. • Authorize the District Attorney’s Office to apply for a grant that would fund an additional victim/witness coordinator position. • Review Carson City’s policy for investment of surplus money. • Update the Carson City Arts and Culture strategic plan. • Ratify an emergency expenditure. A pipe at the aquatic facility burst, requiring immediate repair. • Begin the process of auctioning city land on 2621 Northgate Lane to qualifying nonprofits. Those who wish to provide public comment on any agenda item may attend the meeting-in person or email publiccomment@carson.org in advance. The meeting will stream live on cable channel 191 and www.carson.org/granicus via the “In Progress” link next to the meeting date. The Carson City Parks and Recreation Commission will also meet next week, Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the same location. They will hear presentations on the aquatic facility and city interpretive programs.
