Churchill County School District’s first kindergarten registration night will be held at Lahontan Elementary School on April 26 from 5:30-7 p.m.
Bring your child with you and register for kindergarten. This is an opportunity to come explore Lahontan, meet the staff and kindergarten teachers, and get an introduction to CCSD.
Once registration is complete, you and your child may take a tour of the school, meet the staff, and enjoy a meal in the cafeteria provided by Chartwells. Food will be served between 5:45-6:45 p.m. Information regarding pick up/drop off, lunch, the first day of school, etc., will also be provided.
Children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 15 (first day of school). One time exception: if the child is 5 on or after Aug. 15 and on or before Sept. 30, you have the option for the 2022-2023 school year only to sign an affidavit that your child completed one year of a pre-kindergarten program if you want your child to start kindergarten this year.
Remember to bring your child's state-issued birth certificate, a valid ID for parent/guardian and your child's current immunization record. The school can scan your documents or upload digital copies.
If your child is already registered, come to this event to explore Lahontan and to learn more about Churchill County School District.
If your child attends Northside Early Learning Center until the end of this school year, then he or she doesn’t need to be registered for kindergarten. Your child will automatically roll up.
"We are thrilled to provide this night to our families to get a preview of what exciting things are to come when kids begin school in the fall,” said Superintendent Summer Stephens. “This time will allow for our teachers and families to partner together for learning."
Principal Kimi Melendy said she’s excited to be able to host this night for families at Lahontan.
“We look forward to meeting our incoming kindergartners and connecting with their families,” she said. “This night will not only allow parents the opportunity to get their child registered for school, but it will also give families the opportunity to explore Lahontan before the first day of school.”
