Carson City Symphony Association announces the Joyful Noise Carson Children’s Choir will begin its fall semester on Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m., upstairs at the First United Methodist Church. The choir, led by Michelle Powers welcomes children ages 4 to 12. The focus this semester will be on holiday music for performances at senior centers, retirement homes, and on the Symphony’s “Holiday Treat” concert set for Dec. 11 at the Carson City Community Center. Tuition for the semester is free. To help offset the cost of music, supplies, insurance, the instructors and accompanists’ stipends, and more, parents may join the Carson City Symphony Association, but it is not a requirement. Joyful Noise Carson Children’s Choir, an educational program of the Carson City Symphony Association is supported in part by public funds through a grant from the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts and by private donations.
