Bighorn News: Senior Spotlight: Jacob Pike

 Oasis basketball games wouldn’t have been the same without senior Jacob Pike. Pike’s memorable dunks got the crowd cheering and team hyped. It makes sense that playing on the basketball team is also Jacob’s favorite memory of his time at Oasis.

“My time at Oasis helped me grow as a student athlete. I would like to thank Coach Schank and Coach Gant for all their support,” Pike said. “They not only helped me with basketball, they taught me what it means to be a better person and teammate.”

His favorite class and teacher was math with Evan Brandt. “He is a great teacher,” Pike said.

Earning an Advanced High School diploma and 50 units through the Jump Start Program at Western Nevada College, Pike has been just as successful in the classroom. The credits will give him a head start as he attends the University of Nevada, Reno this fall to work toward a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Marketing.

“My advice for future Oasis students is to join as many activities as possible,” Pike said.
