Historical Society to reveal Adele’s dollhouse replica Nov. 6

Adele’s — for Carson City residents, just that one word can summon memories of a special holiday meal, or where you went after graduation, or the site of a wedding proposal, or a cozy evening with friends, supplied with appetizers and a glass of wine. Now, the Carson City Historical Society will provide the perfect aid: a dollhouse replica of Adele’s given to the society by Diane Bertram of Washington.

Time to reminisce.

The unfinished dollhouse was given to her by her husband. They met and both worked at Porter’s Music Box, now called Adele’s, as teenagers. He had a replica dollhouse made from the 1870s blueprints.

The gift remained in the box for 50 years, until now. Bertram wanted to bring the Adele’s dollhouse back to Carson City.

The public is invited to attend the reveal of the Adele’s dollhouse replica. It arrived unfinished and is being finished by Jim DiMagistris of Woodworking Specialties.

The reveal is set for Sunday, Nov. 6 from 1-3 p.m. in the Carriage House (1207 N. Carson St., behind the Forman-Roberts House. There will be a cash bar from the Royal Peacock Traveling Cocktail Coach (weather permitting) and refreshments.

Memories, pictures, or exhibit materials can be emailed to carsoncityhistoricalsociety@gmail.com or brought to the event for display.
