Nevada Athletics’ 54th annual Governor's Dinner has been announced for July 20 on the grounds of the Governor's Mansion in Carson City.

Bo Jackson, one of the most iconic athletes of all time, will headline the fundraiser.

Jackson, a two-sport star in football and baseball at Auburn, was selected first overall in the 1986 NFL Draft, but opted to try professional baseball after going in the fourth round of the amateur draft to the Kansas City Royals.

Jackson made his MLB debut with the Royals in 1986. Later, after being drafted by the Los Angeles Raiders in the seventh round of the 1987 draft, he made his NFL debut midway through the 1987 season. He went to become an all-star in both sports. Jackson is also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

The Governor's Dinner kicks off with a VIP reception at 5 p.m.; the backyard opens to other guests at 6 p.m. Dinner follows at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $350 per person or tables of 10 for $3,500. VIP tickets, which include the pre-event VIP reception, pictures with Jackson, and premier reserved seating for the dinner and program, are $500 a person, with tables at $5,000. The registration deadline is July 15.

Tickets are on sale now through the Wolf Pack Athletic Association. For information, contact Nevada Associate AD of Special Events Kim Anastassatos at kima@unr.edu.
