As the Nevada State Museum prepares to celebrate another year sharing Nevada’s unique history, the friends of the museum are offering an introductory class for volunteers and tour guides at the museum and Capitol.

Volunteer and tour guide training is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 13 and 14. New and continuing volunteers will learn about the historical treasures housed at the museum and the professional staff that support the museum’s programs.

Museum programs and tours are conducted for individual families, school groups, senior citizens, dignitaries, and others from across Nevada and around the world.

The two-day, no-cost training will offer volunteers and tour guides the opportunity to view many of the museums “behind the scenes” offerings and take a walk-through Nevada’s history, viewing many items that are integral parts of the state’s story.

New volunteers will be able to choose where they will be a good fit as they participate in the training. Registration is required.
