Carson Water Subconservancy District is excited to host its upcoming “Get on the Bus!” Carson River Watershed Tour on June 13 and 14.

“It’s an amazing two-day trip throughout the entire Carson River watershed,” said Brenda Hunt, CWSD program manager. “You get to learn about every aspect of how to plan, protect and manage our water resources.”

Expert guides will cover topics ranging from water rights, river restoration projects and water quality and quantity to floodplain management, invasive species, tribal programs, regenerative agriculture and more.

Stops include the meadow restorations in Hope Valley in Alpine County, Calif.; Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park; Carson City’s Carson River Park; Lahontan Dam and Gate House; the Newland Projects irrigation system at Diversion Dam and Rambling River Ranches in Fallon. Videos and presentations will keep travelers informed between stops aboard the 55-passenger luxury bus.

The tour includes lunch as well as the chance for engineers, planners and floodplain managers to earn continuing education credits. Cost is $175 for both days, $100 for one day.
