WNC’s hosting Dia de los Muertos celebration Thursday

Community members are invited Thursday, Nov. 2, to attend Western Nevada College’s presentation of Dia de los Muertos, a traditional celebration that honors and welcomes back the spirits of deceased loved ones.

Community members are invited Thursday, Nov. 2, to attend Western Nevada College’s presentation of Dia de los Muertos, a traditional celebration that honors and welcomes back the spirits of deceased loved ones.

Visitors can view decorative altar displays, which include photographs to remember children and adults, their favorite foods, candles, crosses and more.

Students from the WNC’s Latino Leadership Academy, the Associated Students of Western Nevada (ASWN) and Wildcat Life will present the eighth annual Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration in the Dini Student Center on the Carson City campus. Sugar skull face painting, games and more are set for noon to 3 p.m.
