Local Carson City firefighters and sheriff’s deputies responded to a Carson City school bus accident transporting Carson High School students and two other vehicles on Tuesday on Long and Roop streets.

No student injuries were reported, according to the Carson City School District. A school resource officer responded to the scene at the time of the incident.

Two adults in one of the vehicles were transferred to the hospital for injuries, according to Sheriff Ken Furlong.

The crash was reported at approximately 2:20 p.m.

According to district spokesman Dan Davis, the accident was still being cleared at 3:20 p.m. Parents were asked not to come to the scene because students would not be released unless the district can identify a legal emergency contact.

“In order to reunify students with parents, district officials would need to confirm emergency contacts utilizing the district's Infinite Campus program," Davis told the Appeal. "We are responsible for students' safety until they are delivered back to their parents' care."

The accident remained under investigation at the end of the day Tuesday.
