Karma Community Food Drive accepting donations through April

The inaugural Karma Community Food Drive is underway and will continue through April.

Karma Boxes located throughout the community are staples for those in need including food-insecure families or unhoused individuals seeking personal items and more.

Karma Box friendly items include water, sunscreen, lip balm, socks, sun hats, knit wool caps, gloves, socks, blankets, hygiene items such as toothbrushes/small tubes of toothpaste (no large bottles or multi-item packs), Tampons, non-perishable foods (preferably in pop-top containers), individual snacks, protein bars and ramen.

Items not advised for Karma Boxes include money, books, mini bottles of alcohol, large bottles or cans, and packages of many pairs of socks.

Drop-off locations in Carson City include:

• High Sierra Business Systems, 2814 N. Carson St.

• Batteries Plus, 1400 S. Carson St.

• Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, 3250 Retail Drive, Suite 100.
