CAMPO Public Participation Plan Title VI Compliance 

Additions Public Comment Period 

Beginning April 26 and continuing through June 11, 2024, the Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) is asking for comments on the Public Participation Plan Title VI Compliance Additions. CAMPO is the federally recognized Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), responsible for transportation planning in Carson City, western Lyon County, and northern Douglas County. An MPO is a federally required transportation policy-making organization made up of representatives from local government and transportation authorities. 

This Public Participation Plan (PPP) identifies the goals, strategies, and tools to be used to encourage participation. CAMPO is seeking to achieve meaningful public outreach meaning a process that proactively seeks full representation from the community, considers public comments and feedback, and incorporates that feedback into a project, program, or plan when possible. The Title VI additions to the CAMPO Public Participation Plan include a series of maps showing the location and concentration of historically underserved and/or underrepresented population groups and minor updates and clarifications within the document.
