Carson City Symphony’s Youth Strings ensembles, Youth Chorus, and Not Quite Ready for Carnegie Hall Players adult intermediate string ensemble will perform a "Music with Friends" concert at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.
The concert is open to all, and admission is free. Performances are by students from prekindergarten through high school age and adults, including beginning violins and cellos; the Allegro and STRAZZ youth strings ensembles; youth chorus; and the adult string ensemble.
The program includes traditional, folk, fiddle, and classical selections. Instructors and conductors are Suzanne McGarraugh, Micah Dunn, Nancy Jones, Nancy Scott, Melinda Reynolds, Jaden Caraway, and Priscilla Hawkins.
Symphony Youth Strings and Symphony Youth Chorus are Carson City Symphony Association's tuition-free, after-school programs for young musicians.
The Symphony’s Not Quite Ready for Carnegie Hall Players is open to adult intermediate-level string players. These programs are supported, in part, by public funds through grants from Nevada Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts, Nevada Humanities and National Endowment for the Humanities, Carson City, and by private donations.
