A Silver Springs man was arrested Thursday for allegedly shooting at an automobile in Carson City, according to a news release from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.
Timothy Langley, 21, was booked into the Carson City jail for battery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm into an occupied moving vehicle, the release said.
On Wednesday at 3:40 p.m., the alleged victim reported his vehicle had been shot at while traveling on Interstate 580 in Carson City.
CCSO’s detective division learned the incident stemmed from road rage. The victim stated the driver of the suspect vehicle, a Nissan sedan, drove next to his vehicle and pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him, the release said. The victim feared he was going to get shot and accelerated away from the Nissan. The victim reported his front passenger window glass imploded and he was hit by the glass causing him injuries to his face and his arm. The victim realized his vehicle had just been shot at by the Nissan.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant and Langley was located in Silver Springs on Thursday by the CCSO Special Enforcement Team. He was placed in custody without incident. The vehicle and the handgun used in the incident were recovered as well.
