Two injured in Silver Springs shooting

A suspect is at-large after a shooting has left two people injured in Silver Springs.

At 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds was found at Lahontan State Park Ranger Station at Lake Lahontan.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said that they learned the shooting took place at a residence in the 3900 block of Birch Street in Silver Springs.

At the residence, deputies found a second adult male suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a press release.

Both males were transported via CareFlight for further treatment and their condition is not known at this time.

Based on initial information, it was believed the suspect had possible barricaded himself inside a structure on the Birch Street property. A perimeter was established and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team was mobilized. Detectives with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Major Crimes Unit sought and were granted a search warrant for the property. The SWAT team conducted a search of the property and did not locate the suspect.

The suspect has not yet been positively identified and Detectives continue to process the crime scene.
