Wendy Bullock has declared her candidacy for the Churchill County School Board.

She joins current board president Greg Malkovich and Kathryn Whitaker, who are both running for re-election. Since only three candidates filed for three open seats before the deadline, they will be confirmed after the primary election. They won’t be sworn in, though, until January.

Early voting begins May 25 through June 7 with the primary election on June 11.

“Having called Fallon home for 23 years, I have witnessed the strength and potential of our community firsthand,” Bullock said. “Now, I am eager to contribute to its continued growth and success by serving as a school board trustee.”

Bullock’s educational background includes a bachelor's in criminal justice and a minor in business administration from the University of Nevada, Reno. She also holds an associate of liberal arts from Western Nevada College and a criminal justice certification, also from WNC. Furthermore, Bullock said she’s a certified pretrial services professional and holds certification in open meeting law.

“This robust educational foundation and my passion for education — coupled with my dedication to advocating for the welfare of students, teachers and families — drive my desire to serve,” she said. “As a parent of three children with two having graduated from Churchill County High School and one currently attending seventh grade at Churchill County Middle School, I understand firsthand the importance of ensuring a high-quality education for every child in our district.”

Professionally, Bullock said she represents Churchill County as a court services specialist who contributes to local government. She said her extensive involvement as a community volunteer has provided her with invaluable insights into the diverse perspectives and concerns of the county’s residents.

“I believe in transparency and open communication and will work tirelessly to keep the public informed and engaged,” she added. “Join me in this journey to make a positive impact on our schools and our community.”
