The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from people interested in serving on the Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife, the Library Board of Trustees and the Culture and Tourism Authority.
“We value the input of all our boards and commissions,” Carson City Mayor Lori Bagwell previously told the Appeal. “Their work provides opportunities for community input and helps shape our decisions as the Board of Supervisors.”

• The wildlife board manages wildlife matters within Carson City. The meetings vary in number, usually with the onset of fishing and hunting seasons, and could be up to six hours a month.
There are four openings for three-year terms that will expire in July 2027.
“The upcoming appointments of new members to the Carson City Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife will be the appointment of a qualified person to represent the interests of the sportsman, rancher, farmer. Applicants must be a registered voter as well as a resident of Carson City,” the city said in a news release.
All members will serve without compensation. Applications will be accepted until May 22. Interviews for the volunteer positions are tentatively planned for the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting June 6.
• The library board oversees all library policy and budgets. Applicants must be willing to serve approximately six to eight hours a month.
There are two open positions, one for a four-year term that will end June 2028 and one for a partial term that will end June 30, 2027. Applicants must be Carson City registered voters to qualify. All members will serve without compensation.
Applications will be accepted until May 22. Interviews are tentatively planned for the supervisors meeting June 6.
• The tourism authority oversees all tourism matters within Carson City. Meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 4 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center in the Sierra Room.
Applicants must be willing to commit approximately six to eight hours a month.
There are two positions open each for a two-year term, one for a person who can represent the hotel/motel industry, and one for a person who can represent the citizen-at-large position.
“Applicants for the hotel/motel industry position must be a representative from a Carson City hotel/motel/RV park to qualify,” according to the city.
All members will serve without compensation. Applications will be accepted until May 22. Interviews are tentatively planned for the supervisors meeting June 6.
