Barbara M. Stevens, 88, a Carson City resident for the past 12 years, died Dec. 11, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Dec. 13, 1911, in Worcester, Mass., to Emil Christian and Grace Barber Mahlert.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Mrs. Stevens produced audio tapes for the blind for more than 30 years. She enjoyed bridge, knitting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband George in 1982 and daughter Diane in August 1996.
Among her survivors are her son Jeffrey of Middlesex, N.J.; granddaughter Peggy McCoy of Carson City and great-grandson Clint McCoy of Carson City.
No service is scheduled.
Inurnment will be at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
