A High Mass and rosary for Ellen Ivie Vietti, 84, a Carson City resident the past four years, will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 1138 Wright St., in Reno.
Mrs. Vietti died Feb. 16, 2002, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Jan. 21, 1918, in Sparks to Albert J. Lunberg and Amelia Acocks Lunberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Vietti Sr. in 1963, her first-born son John Vietti Jr. in 1944, and three sisters, Goldie Lague, Audry Hughes and Agatha Huylar.
Prior to living in Carson City she resided in Reno.
Mrs. Vietti worked at Reno Vulcanizing and Armanko's Office Supply as a bookkeeper. After Armanko's closed, she worked as the accountant for the YWCA until 1994, when she retired.
She was an active member at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church from 1945-55. She participated in the women's auxiliary raising funds for the Catholic school. She most enjoyed activities with her huge family, which was her primary focus.
Among her survivors are her daughter Shirley Vietti of Tucson, Ariz.; sons Ronald of Carson City and Raymond of Reno; sisters Alberta Parks of Reno and Vera Francum of Payson, Utah; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews in the Reno and Sparks area.
Interment will be immediately after the Mass at our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery, 2700 N. Virginia St., Reno.
Capitol City Cremation and Burial Society in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
