Obituary: Charles "Chuck" R. Walker

A graveside service for Charles "Chuck" R. Walker, 66, a New Washoe City resident for the past 12 years, will be at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, Calif.

Mr. Walker died Nov. 23, 2002 at home. He was born July 16, 1936, in Little Rock, Ark., to Charles C. Walker and Ola L. Blankenship Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He attended schools in Arkansas and graduated from high school there. He then moved to El Monte, Calif.

He married Helen Menzie June 6, 1985, in Lake Tahoe. Prior to living in New Washoe City, he lived in El Monte.

Mr. Walker was an inspector for Continental Can Co. He was a member of Lexington Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of El Monte, and for 14 years was a deputy sheriff for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Among his survivors are his wife, Helen, of New Washoe City; sons Chuck and Richard Walker of Big Bear, Calif., and Will Walker of New Washoe City; stepson Jerry Pannell of New Washoe City; stepdaughter, Laurie Shelton of Sun Valley; and nine grandchildren.

Burial will be at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
