Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chris Austin said the girl, who has a license, was driving a 1988 Toyota northbound when she ran the red light and struck a gold Cadillac being driven by a 79-year-old Carson man.

Austin said the driver of the Cadillac was facing west off Lupin Road preparing to make a turn at the intersection when the accident occurred at 7:55 p.m. He and his passenger were not injured.

The accident is under investigation, Austin said.
