Galena volleyball beats Sparks

The Galena High volleyball team improved to 6-1 in league play with a 15-1, 15-0, 15-8 win over Sparks.

Julia Mailander served for eight aces and also had five kills for Galena (18-9). Joanna Hixon had four kills, Lydia Mailander had three kills, Whitney Haller had three digs, Melissa Reaney had two blocks, Mandy Dickman had six assists and Chelsea Appelbaum added six assists for the Grizzlies.

Galena won the junior varsity match 15-1, 15-3 and the freshmen match 15-1, 15-1.
