A graveside inurnment for James H. Short, a Carson City resident for the past 15 years, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley with full military honors.
Mr. Short died Aug. 19, 2003, at home. He was born June 26, 1929, in Sumrall, Miss., to Robert V. and Mildred Graham Short. He was 74.
Prior to moving to Carson City Mr. Short lived in Santa Maria, Calif.
Mr. Short grew up in Sumrall and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 27 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolene, June 8, 2002.
Among his survivors are his sons Bart Lerud of Owensboro, Key., Steve Lerud of Orem, Utah; daughters Judith Young and Annette Heagler of Houston, Texas and Cynthia mason of Texas; and a sister Athelee "Bee" Odom of Sumrall.
FitzHenry's Crematory is in charge of cremation.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
