Visitation for Philip Scherer, 46, a 10-year Carson City resident, will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. No service will be held.
Mr. Scherer died April 3, 2006, in Carson City. He was born April 13, 1959, in Allentown, Pa., to Donald and Jeanine Scherer.
He married Jessica Jackson in Carson City in October 2004.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed camping and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; daughters Michaela Lohel and Verena Scherer, both of Germany, and Nichole Heltmundt; father of Colonial Heights, Va.; sisters Bridgette Nickell of Berea, Ky., and Michelle MacNamara of Cork, Ireland; brother, Richard Dunbar of Woodbridge, Va.; and five grandchildren.
Cremation took place in Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
