A memorial service for Virginia Lee Broersma, 70, a 38-year Minden resident, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Hilltop Community Church.
Mrs. Broersma died Aug. 2, 2006, in Carson City.
She was born April 25, 1936, in San Jose, Calif., to John and Myrtle Stephens.
She married William Broersma on Jan. 14, 1983, in Reno.
Before moving to Minden, Mrs. Broersma lived in San Jose.
She retired from the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles.
She belonged to the Red Hat Hotties of Minden and the Ladies Sewing/Coffee Club.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Edgar Stephens and daughter Lyn Janese Walkama.
Among her survivors are her husband; daughters LeeAnn Rasner and Dana Westre; son, Brian Walkama; stepsons Jim, Bill, Mike and Rick Broersma; stepdaughter, Missy Paige; 23 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ron Wood Family Resource Center or the Do Drop Inn.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
