Mary Tierney

Mary Tierney, 82, a Carson City resident, died Aug. 15, 2006, in Carson City.

Mrs. Tierney was born June 6, 1924, in Rosebush, Mich., to Theodore and Emma Miller.

Before moving to Carson City, Mrs. Tierney lived in Clearwater, Fla.

She graduated from high school in Belleville, Mich., in 1941.

She worked as a Sally riveter during World War II.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross C. Tierney; and daughter, Tamra Dykes.

Among her survivors are her sons Dennis Tierney of Carson City and Charles Tierney of Minden; four sisters; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Cremation will take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
