A memorial service for Betty Smith, 83, a 13-year Chico, Calif., resident, will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Scheer Memorial Chapel located in Oroville, Calif.

Mrs. Smith died Dec. 2, 2006, at her home. She was born Aug. 25, 1923, in Bixby, Okla., to William Osborn and Alla Crossley.

Before moving to Chico, Mrs. Smith lived in Carson City.

She married Earl L. Smith on July 21, 1946, in Reno.

She owned the Vitamin Villa in Carson City for many years.

She served in the U.S. Navy women's auxiliary from 1944-46.

She enjoyed playing games, cards, dice and bingo, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sister Barbara; and brother Bryan.

Among her survivors are her daughter, Katie Davis; son, Johnny Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law Doris and Bob Lamar and Pat and Clay Chambers; brothers and sisters-in-law Don and Nancy Osborn and Jim and Linda Osborn; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Scheer Memorial Chapel in Oroville, Calif., is in charge of arrangements.
