Senator girls roll past Sparks

Twelve of 13 players scored for the Carson High girls basketball team as it rolled to a 75-8 win over Sparks on Thursday in the North Valleys Tournament.

Carson (2-1) led 27-1 after one quarter, 42-3 at halftime and held Sparks scoreless on its way to taking a 56-3 lead after three quarters.

"We just worked on a few things," Carson assistant coach Ron Tamori said. "We worked on zone a little bit, we worked on some plays."

Abby Rankl scored 12 points, Cassie Vondrak had 10 points and six rebounds, Gina Bianchi and Danielle Peacon each had 10 points, Megan Kilty and Christa Casci each had seven points, Kaitlin Burroughs had six points and Morgan Nuckolls added five rebounds.

The Senators will continue play in the tournament at 7:30 p.m. today against the winner between Wooster and Elko at Wooster. "Hopefully tomorrow will be a better game," Tamori said.
