Funeral services for Arnold A. Pierce, 93, a 30-year resident of Carson City, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Pierce died Dec. 8, 2006, in Carson City. He was born Aug. 10, 1913, in Iowa, to John Henry and Elly Pierce.

Pierce served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II and attended the annual reunions. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, including driving across the United States and vacationing in Europe. He also enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife Caroline Pierce in 2005 and sister Marian Smith in 2006.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law Arnold Wayne and Julie Pierce and of Shingle Springs, Calif.; daughters Georgia McGregor of Incline Village, Chris McCartney of Carson City and four grandchildren.

Burial will take place at Lone Mountain Cemetery. Walton's Chapel of the Valley in charge of arrangements.
