William "Bill" Lyle, 81, a 26-year Storey County resident, died Dec. 17, 2006, at Renown Medical Center in Reno.
Mr. Lyle was born Oct. 20, 1925, in Riverside, Calif.
He was a contractor in the construction industry and owned his own business in Alhambra, Calif., before moving to Nevada in 1980.
He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during World War II. He was a member of the California State Guard.
He was a National Rifle Association Master Pistol Shooter and won many awards.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his brother George Lyle.
Among his survivors are his wife, Barbara Lyle; sons Tom, David and Jonathan; and three grandchildren.
A private memorial service was held at his home in Dayton.
