Mark Richard 'Spanky' Cessna

Mark Richard "Spanky" Cessna, 57, a former Carson City resident, died Feb. 17, 2006, at the Fresno University Medical Center, of complications from a stroke.

Mr. Cessna was born July 13, 1948, in Ventura, Calif., to Marvin Richard Cessna and Cecille Huffman.

He married Mary McClure in August of 2003 in Auberry, Calif.

He moved his family to Carson City in 1978.

In 1988 he and his wife moved to Auberry, Calif.

He graduated from Hueneme High School in California in 1966.

He enjoyed drag racing, hot rods, cooking, surfing the Internet, traveling and working on cars.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1991 and his father in 2000; brother Michael M. Cessna Sr., in 1992, and sister-in-law Lucia Lopez Cessna in 2006.

Among his survivors are his wife of Auberry; sons and daughters-in-law Matthew and Suzanne of Covina, Calif., Duane and Jolene of Norwalk, Calif.; daughter Tammy Cessna Duran of Covina, Calif.; stepsons and their wives Chris and Sandy McClure, of Anaheim, Calif., Patrick and Jennifer McClure of Camarillo, Calif.; stepdaughter and husband Pam and Xavier McClure-Tardy of France; sister Laura-lee Cessna Guerrero Redwine and husband, Kent, of Carson City, 14 grandchildren and one nephew.

Inurnment will take place in south France at a later date.

Cremation took place at Nova Cremation Services in Fresno, Calif.
