Carter a scholar-athlete

Paul Carter, a 2003 Carson High graduate, has been named as a NAIA Central Region Scholar-Athlete for the William Penn wrestling team in Iowa.

Carter, a 149-pound junior for the Statesmen, owns a 3.74 Grade Point Average in physical education/health. Carter is also eligible for Daktronics/NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors later this year.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must have maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.25 and have competed in at least 12 matches during the year.
