The name was released Tuesday of a man killed in an early morning wreck in Washoe Valley.

Dean Murray, 21, of Carson City, was identified as the victim in the 3:30 a.m. single-car accident at East Lake Boulevard and Old Highway 395.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Murray was driving west on East Lake Boulevard when his vehicle ran headlong into a cement barrier.

During the crash investigation, it was discovered Murray had been reported missing by his family members the previous day, according to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.

Washoe County detectives were called to investigate the death and potential suspicious circumstances that surround it, said Washoe County Sheriff Mike Haley.

"The investigation is currently in progress and detectives are working diligently to uncover the cause of the fatal accident," he said.
