Patricia Bussert Craven, 85, a five-year resident of Carson City, died Jan. 8, 2006, at Mountain Springs Assisted Living Community in Carson City.

Mrs. Craven was born Aug. 25, 1920, in San Jose, Calif., to Leonardo and Ruth Bussert.

She graduated from the University of Redlands.

She married Franklin Craven on Dec. 25, 1941.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

Mrs. Craven was an educator and a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening, reading and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband in April 2002 and her sister Libby Laidlaw.

Among her survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law Nancy and Kurt Grange and Margaret and Ron Tamori, all of Carson City, and Barbara and Dave Cochenour of Hawthorne; son and daughter-in-law, Mick and Sally of Bend, Ore.; sister Margaret Cuthbertson of El Segundo, Calif.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and many extended-family members

Memorial contributions can be made to Vista Care Hospice.

A private family service will be held.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
