Terrence Joseph 'Terry' Hagarty

A memorial service for Terrence Joseph "Terry" Hagarty, 50, a former Carson City resident of 23 years, will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 25, at the Reno Eckankar center, 1040 Matley Lane, Suite A.

Mr. Hagarty died of kidney cancer Jan. 6, 2006, in Silver Spring, Md. He was born Oct. 22, 1955, in Asheville, N.C., to Vincent and Patricia Hagarty.

He received a degree in electrical engineering from Asheville-Buncombe Technical College.

While living in Carson City, he worked as an electric engineer for the DynaTech/Fluke Corp.

He was a member of Eckankar. He supported the Make-A-Wish Foundation, actively working as a volunteer wish granter.

He was preceded in death by his father on March 8, 1986.

Among his survivors are his mother of Asheville; brother Dennis of Raleigh, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law Edward and Brigid of Silver Spring; sister Maryellen Hagarty of Kingsland, Ga.; sister Gerry Hagarty of Asheville, N.C.; brothers and sisters-in-law Kevin and Francesca of Marion, N.C., Mike and Maura of Raleigh; three nieces and six nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, or a charity of choice.

Francis J. Colins Funeral Home, Maryland, is in charge of arrangements.
