William Lynn Jackson

William Lynn Jackson, 87, a three-year Carson City resident, died Jan. 17, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born June 8, 1918, in Oklahoma, to Florence B. Tabor and William O. Jackson.

He married Frances L. Maddox on April 10, 1946, in Edmond, Okla.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Whidbey Island, Wash.

He received a master's degree in counseling and guidance from Oklahoma State University.

He was a housing director for Oklahoma State University. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a Methodist and enjoyed golfing and flying.

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Dr. William and Claudia Jackson of Tulsa, Okla.; daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Jeff Erdoes of Carson City; grandchildren Brad Jackson of Austin, Texas and Mark Jackson at Harvard University.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Lynn and Frances Jackson Scholarship Fund at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK 74074.

A memorial service was held at the First United Methodist Church.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
