Carson hockey splits at Elko

The Carson Senator Inline Hockey team suffered its first loss of the year, but came back to win at Elko to gain a split last weekend.

Carson lost the opener 8-1 in a physical game. Carson goalie Richie Copeland faced 35 shots and made 27 saves and Ryan Dwyer scored Carson's only goal.

The Senators came back to beat Elko 4-1. Keaton Massey scored twice and Jake Echeverria and Bud Kop each scored once. Dwyer, Austin Bartosz, Kop and Massey all had assists. Copeland faced 25 shots and made 24 saves.

Carson's junior varsity blue team tied Elko's JVs 5-5, with Massey picking up the hat trick, scoring three goals. Luke Echeverria and Jeremy Comba each scored once. Comba added an assist. Goalie Seth Hartley faced 25 shots and made 20 saves.

Carson's JV white team suffered its first loss of the year, losing to Elko's JVs 5-2. Brian Skach and Alex Kaskie scored while Tony Mariskanish had an assist for Carson. Hartley faced 30 shots and made 28 saves.
