Dr. James Gibson was recently hired to work with orthodontist Dr. Vincent D'Ascoli in his four offices in Northern Nevada.
Gibson, 30, moved to Carson City in September from Loma Linda, Calif., where he completed his three-year residency after graduating from dental school at Loma Linda University. Gibson graduated from Southern Utah University with a bachelor's degree in Spanish and chemistry. He is originally from Henderson.
"My wife and I thought this area would be a beautiful place to be. I prefer mountains, rivers and lakes."
Gibson and his wife, Natalie, have two children: Lily, 4; Quincy, 1. They live in Reno.
D'Ascoli has offices in Carson City, Reno, Gardnerville and Incline Village. The office also operates an orthobus that travels to schools in Carson City, Lyon and Douglas counties.
"When I went through orthodontics when I was young I didn't have a lot of self esteem. My orthodontist did a lot to help me gain confidence and become the person I am," D'Ascoli said.
